In part 1 of my two part trilogy, I take on the NRA and the GOP with truth, logic, snark, and non-alternative fact-checks. After listening to this episode, you'll now know how to respond when someone tells you, "Guns don't kill people; people kill people" - and no, it won't be like Jeff Bridges utters in The Big Lebowski, where he says, "Yeah, well, that's just, like, you're opinion, man." So join me in fighting for common-sense gun legislation, for as author Margaret Wolfe Hungerford once wrote, "Gun violence is in the eye of the beholder, literally. You'll shoot your eyes out." I'm now being told she didn't write that. It must have been someone else...

I loved both gun segments of your podcast! I only wish that the Republicans in Congress and our country would listen to them. Their responses have always angered me and have been so obvious as to their underlying reasons, Money! Why some people can’t see this is just beyond me!

Part 2: You will see advocates instead of adversaries, open discussions instead of hateful attacks, people treating each other like fellow, equal to themselves people. When you have lots of angry people fueled by provoked emotional reactions to a threat, real or perceived, with no real leadership to speak of, and fingers pointing in every direction but inward, and year after year going by with no significant positive changes, well, look around you folks. That's our current America. I'm past sick of it, but as long as we have true patriots like Craig, with his positive light and energy, never ceasing in his efforts to breath new life into this country and to be part of a better world. Pay attention to Craig Rozniecki, and people like him, even if you don't agree them, I challenge you to at least sit down and listen, really listen, to them before you decide what to think. I'm sure they'll pay you the same kindness and respect. Keep it up Craig! (2/2)

Part 1: You are right about the term gun "control." The word "control" tends to activate strong emotional reactions in people. If anyone disagrees, observe the intense reaction people have, gun owners immediately feel threatened and on guard, while victims of gun violence desperately want to live in a world without the weapons that tore their lives apart. I feel that including the word "control" in any controversial legislation is a mistake, on both sides of the aisle. When any platform relies on and/or provokes intense emotional reactions as their method of choice to keep their constituents engaged, fired up, and ready to spend their money and cast their votes, they are doing their constituents a great disservice. And yes, I firmly believe in the power of informed anger. I would normally refer to it as "righteous" anger, but I know some could misinterpret that as a purely "religious" term. How I define it is, yes you are passionately angry and have had enough of any and/or all injustice, but not blindly and without direction. When you arm that valid anger with facts, evidence, empathy, and strong leadership with the right intentions, you will see different things happen... (1/2)

I love this, as well! I have always said that military type guns have no place in the hands of anyone besides the people in military service. Even one of the far right idols, Ronald Reagan, said the very same thing.
